Bryn-Y-Gors Holiday Park is ideally situated for the fishing enthusiast with several opportunities for river and lake fishing in the area. The well renowned Teifi Pools are just 2 miles from the park.

For those who enjoy deep sea fishing, nearby Aberystwyth and Aberaeron harbours offer a choice of charter trips.

For golfing enthusiasts, Cilgwyn Golf Club is a 9-hole, 5,309 yard course which is less than 15 minutes from Bryn-Y-Gors.

Other challenging courses in the area are Aberystwyth (18 holes) and Penrhos at Llanrhystud (18 holes).

All courses welcome visitors, who can take out daily green fees or full memberships.

For walking enthusiasts there are many enjoyable walks in and around the area. And for the more serious, the surrounding Cambrian mountains offer superb scenery and challenging walks.

The roads around the Pontrhydfendigaid area are not too demanding for those who enjoy cycling, and you can enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery in Wales.

For nature enthusiasts the Cors Caron Nature Reserve is nearby. For those who enjoy watching Red Kites, this is the place to see these magnificent birds. In the nearby town of Tregaron there is also a specialist centre dedicated to the Red Kite.

In fact, the whole area is perfect for anyone who enjoys wildlife and conservation.

Strata Florida Abbey

Near Pontrhydfendigaid lie the ruins of Strata Florida, the Cistercian Abbey, founded in 1164, that was once the Westminster of Wales and where so many of our native Princes are buried.

There are also many other sites of historical interest in the area.

The town of Aberystwyth is just 20 minutes drive away. Aberystwyth offers excellent shopping, including supermarkets and several high street names. In addition, this historical seaside town is an attractive place to while away an afternoon with its pier, sea front, promenade, harbour and castle. There is also a leisure centre with excellent swimming facilities.

The small market town of Tregaron is just 15 minutes drive away. Here you will find a variety of shops, including a Butcher, a Chemist, General stores and also a Bank.

For those who enjoy Sunday markets, the well known Clarach market is worth a visit.

Of an evening, there are two village pubs which are child-friendly and offer food, within easy walking distance of the park. Slightly further afield, there are other excellent country pubs.

In addition, Aberystywth offers a cinema, a theatre, and a wide choice of excellent restaurants.
